Geoffrey Stephens Engineered IT Inc. and its Able Assess service and its Affiliates (“we,” “us,” “our” or “Able Assess”) respects your privacy. This privacy policy (the “Policy”) explains Able Assess’ privacy practices with respect to your personal information throughout the entire Able Assess Network, the ways your personal information and data is collected, used and shared and the rights and options available to you with respect to your personal data.
Who we are
Able Assess is the operating name of Software as a Service owned and operated by Geoffrey Stephens Engineered IT inc. Our service is offered to licencing bodies (“Licencing Authorities”) for the purpose of assessing licencing candidates for knowledge and other inspection-based competencies required for licencing. This privacy policy applies to Able Assess and all of its named operations and divisions.

What Information Does Able Assess Collect and How is it Used?
With your consent, Able Assess collects personal information to:
- Fulfill requests by licencing candidates to demonstrate competencies
- Satisfy electronic payment requirements
- Provide customer services
Your data may be anonymized and used for statistical purposes. Personal information typically includes your name, address, date of birth, and e-mail address. You can always choose not to provide us with any of your personal information. However, if you elect not to provide this information, we may not be able to provide you with the product, service, or information that you requested.
Your Implied Consent
In some cases, your consent is implied if we ask you to provide personal information with a stated purpose. For example, we can only deliver the product you have purchased if you provide us with your legal name, date of birth and email address.
Information Collected
Able Assess collects the following information from its End Users.
- Identifying information for prospective licencees with the Licencing Authority. For example, Legal Name, Date of Birth, and address. This information is shared with the Licencing Authority upon completion of a test to support their licencing process.
- Email address is used to communicate with the prospective licencee to share instructions on how to complete a test once it has been purchased.
- One or more photos of the prospective licencee as part of anti-fraud requirements by the Licencing Authority.
- Live streaming of applicant behaviour during testing (if applicable)
- Payment information to satisfy payment requirements for the test. This may include card holder name, card number, CVV number and card expiry, and billing address information.
If you choose not to provide the above information, Able Assess will not be able to provide services to the End User.
Information Collected Automatically
Able Assess automatically collect certain non-personal information regarding Web site users that does not identify you. Examples include the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer, the IP address of your Internet Service Provider, the date and time you access the Web Site, the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the Web Site, the operating system you are using, the sections of the Web Site you visit, the Web Site pages read and images viewed, and the content you download from the Web Site.
This non-personal information is used for Web Site and system administration purposes and to improve the Web Site.
Cookies
Able Assess may rely on “cookies” to remember information about a user between visits.
Links to Other Web Sites
The Able Assess solution may contain links to other Web sites or Internet resources. When you click on one of those links you are contacting another Web site or Internet resource. Able Assess has no responsibility or liability for or control over those other Web sites or Internet resources or their collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.

Does Able Assess Disclose the Information it Collects?
Able Assess provides your personal information and test results to designated Licencing Authorities.
Able Assess does not sell your personal information. However, we may share your information with third parties acting on our behalf or as permitted or required by law.
Disclosure to Service Providers
Able Assess may share your personal information with certain service providers in order to provide products and services to you, to verify and validate information, and to address customer service matters. Examples of service providers include those suppliers who validate and process your credit card information.
We will use reasonable efforts to ensure that your personal information is used in a manner that is consistent with this Policy. If you do not wish us to provide your personal information to those service providers, we may be unable to process your transaction.
Legal Disclosure
Able Assess may disclose your information as permitted or required to by law, for example:
- to a government institution or other person or entity that has asserted its lawful authority to obtain the information.
- where we have reasonable grounds to believe the information could be useful in the investigation of unlawful activity.
- to comply with a subpoena or warrant or an order made by a court, person or entity with jurisdiction to compel the production of information.
- to comply with court rules regarding the production of records and information; and
- to our legal counsel.
How does Able Assess Protect My Information?
Able Assess maintains appropriate safeguards and current security standards to protect your personal information, against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Although we cannot take responsibility for any theft, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction of data by a third party, we take reasonable precautions to prevent such unfortunate occurrences.
How Can I Verify My Information?
You can request access or correction of your data by contacting [email protected].
You can also ask to review any of the information that we have retained, how we have used it, and to whom we have disclosed it at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law, and provided we can authenticate your identity, you will be given reasonable access to your personal information, and will be entitled to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and to have it amended as appropriate.
When is My Information Removed?
Your information is retained until it has been successfully communicated to the designated licence authority plus ninety (90) days by default. It should be noted that the retention period is configurable by the licencing authority and that the 90 day default can be overwritten. At the end of the configurable retention period, the information is deleted from our repositories.
